Our Method
claritech.ioHow We Work
ClaritechIO's work is based on commonly used open-source tools. We saw how these tools were being used by e-commerce giants and hyperscalers, and began using them to augment proprietary hardware to provide energy management solutions in projects with telecom operators. Over years of experience it became obvious that open-source tools ALONE delivered a complete and superior solution.
One benefit in how we work is that you can get value from every step in the process. We can offer tremendous value to almost anyone in the form of consulting services. What do you need help with? With older proprietary solutions, you had to commit to working with the company providing the solutions in order to get benefit. With open-source solutions, we can give a lot of valuable data regarding how to pursue solutions with those tools, whether you decide to work with us a little or a lot. We're convinced that what we're proposing is what every operator will be doing at some point in the future, and we can help you get their faster and avoid missteps. We can help give new life to the intelligence you already have in your network in the form of power equipment smart controllers, as well as various IoT/RTU hardware you may have already deployed.
What Is the Process?
- Contact Us - Use the website or LinkedIn to contact us and ask for a presentation.
- Initial Presentation - In a short first meeting we can share a variety of data from past projects in the form of dashboards in data visualization software to demonstrate what initial solutions might look like. Data visualization offers immediate ROI for these types of solutions, and is always where we would begin a new project.
- Discussion of Your Network - After we give an overview, we'd like to discuss:
- What network connectivity do you have to sites?
- We don't typically want to add hardware to a network, but this also assumes you have network connectivity to your sites. If you are a towerco, for example, connectivity may not exist and we can discuss how modem networks can be created. A benefit of the tools we recommend is that ANY existing devices (eg. cell modems, RTU's) that deliver connectivity to sites likely can be reused, including unifying data from past, potentially stagnant, RMS systems.
- Where are sites located and what are the site's purpose?
- Unlike most legacy systems, a system based on gathering standardized data from sites can be applied across all your telecom sites, from the smallest to largest sites.
- What passive power and cooling equipment and controllers are located in sites? What types, brands, models, etc.
- We can often unify data from one or more existing remote monitoring system (RMS) hardware devices you might already have in place in your network too. Data siloed into two or more different systems is a common reason you AREN'T able to manage your network.
- What network connectivity do you have to sites?
- Trials - If you wanted our help, we'd suggest a trial of a small number of sites. We work with you to download and install the open-source tools we'd need for your network and to get access to your site's power equipment to gather data. We'd gather data and map the equipment data to open standards we use (and can show you). We've worked with hundreds of common network devices, so this process is typically very fast once we begin work. We'd take the standardized data and create dashboards from it. That's it!
- Determine Scope - We can apply the FOCUS method to create solutions of any size, from simply helping boost your own internal data pipeline efforts by educating you on the FOCUS standardization method, doing a small trial to show you how it works, deploying sites but not managing them, or going all the way to complete managed solutions.
- We would generally recommend just gathering data from your existing network to start and working with it. It is possible that later you would determine you might want to add hardware to sites (eg. AC meters, IP cameras), we'd typically recommend this be done as a 2nd stage. A 2nd stage might also include more control elements, where ability to control equipment at sites could be added.
- Deployment - The path from trial to a working deployment is very short. We just add +1 sites to the trial and we're on the path to a full deployment.
Why This Is Different
This method is quite different than with more proprietary solutions where complicated, time consuming, and expensive hardware installs are necessary. We also aren't requiring that you use the data in some particular way like a proprietary software that you need to be trained on. We almost always represent standardized energy data in data-visualization software like Grafana to start as the value of doing so is so high, but what you do with the data is up to you. Standardized data is inherently valuable, future-proof, and low risk, so you can change how it is used easily over time. AI is inevitable and what everyone should be planning for, and can help you prepare for that eventuality as well.
