GSMA Intelligence Report

New report from GSMA features Claritech.io and talks about the three most common methods operators are pursuing to improve energy efficiency in their networks.

  • Vendor Tools:  These are the tools most operators are most familiar with.  The hardware vendors who are already within your network offer tools that can improve energy and operational efficiency for their own equipment, but almost always suffer from large amounts of data siloing.    We wrote about the impact of these silos in detail here.   Some software tools are available to manage energy across different vendor hardware, but this software is itself a new data silo.
  • In-House Tools:  Many larger operators are aware of benefits of new data streaming tools that are available, but trying to do this type of work in-house involves a great deal of trial and error and usually involves expertise in both power-related issues and the data tools themselves - a rare skill set.  Most in-house efforts we've seen have been a work in progress at best.

  • Vendor Agnostic Data Streaming Tools:  New data streaming technology allows for gathering and standardizing data across all your current, existing power and cooling infrastructure.    We are strong believers in this newest method, and you can find out more about our reasoning throughout our website.   We've been constantly evolving our use of these tools for years and have many examples we can show of how this works on real networks.
